I recently received a call from an old friend that I have not heard from in a long time. He is in his late 70′s and in excellent health. This friend routinely uses acupuncture and firmly believes in using nature to cure and prevent illness and disease.

We got on the subject of getting older and the aliments that accompany age, such as arthritis and feeling run down. Immediately, he told me that I should be drinking pine leaf tea. The tea has many benefits; cleans the veins, increases your strength and vitality and helps in reversing or slowing the aging process. It is also know to reduce or eliminate symptoms of asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory & digestive disorders. The pine leaf tea is believed to be beneficial in the majority of human diseases.

How To Prepare Pine Tea

.1) Collect fresh and green needles and wash.

.2) Cut the needles (leaves) into small pieces

.3) Place one cup of the small needles in a pan.

.4) Pour 3 quarts of water into pan.

.5) Let the tea steep for about two hours (until the water turns brownish in color).

When you make tea, you want the water “HOT” but not boiling. You need to experiment with the amount of needles required and how much water is added to obtain an acceptable taste. This tea is not the best tasting but has many health benefits.

I recently ran across an article on the health benefits of Celery, which was used as a medical herb as far back as ancient China. I began researching Celery for treatments on arthritis and gout and found its anti-inflammatory properties help reduce swelling and pain around joints. Its contains diuretic substances which clears uric acid from painful joints any may help with the treatment of arthritis and gout. This is something I intend to personally try and want to share this with a friend of my that has periodic flair ups with gout.

Celery is rich in vitamin C and a number of amino acids. Best of all, it contains almost zero calories.

Here are some of the other benefits that I ran across while researching Celery:

· Reduces blood pressure and cholesterol

· Bladder and kidney problems

· Prevention of Cancer

· Improves immune system

· Cardiovascular

· Relief from migraines

I have read a number of articles on the miraculous curing power of honey and cinnamon from Universities, Weekly World News Magazine Yunani and Ayurvedic medicine articles and various sources from countries such as Australia, Canada Japan, India and Spain. The benefits of these two ingredients have been know for hundreds of years and have many medical purposes which I would like to share with you. I personally utilize this mixture daily by mixing it in warm water, it makes a wonderful drink. I recommend that you purchase a blended honey that is raw and organically produced. A blended honey comes from a mixture of two or money honeys from different floral sources. Do not administer honey to children without seeking advice form a medical doctor.

Today I ran across a bit of information that I thought was very interesting. Have you ever heard of ORAC? It is the standardized test adopted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to measure the antioxidant potency of foods and nutritional supplements. The recommended daily antioxidant doses should be 5000 ORAC units/day. I have taken a number of antioxidant products over the years. Through some reading and research I have found there is a lot of misleading information out there, all in the sake of making a dollar.

I learned today there is natural grown, fruits and vegetables that we can consume in our daily diet to help protect us against free radicals/oxidative damage. There is many food sources that contain antioxidants have been shown to prevent, stop, or reduce oxidative damage.

Research studies have shown that antioxidants help prevent the development of Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, heart and lung diseases, some cancers, cataract formation and the affects of aging. This is just a general overview on antioxidants and I recommend that everyone conduct some in-depth research on high ORAC foods sources.

Below is a brief overview of the top four fruits, vegetables, and supplements that are have high ORAC ratings:
